Personal Desktop or Laptop Users

Please check if you have the following two prerequisites installed on your PC before you start downloading uCampus:

JRE

1.       Java Runtime Environment (JRE) – If your PC has no Java installed, we recommend a visit to the official Free Java Download page:

X3D Players

2.       X3D Player/Viewer – A third-party X3D player or viewer is required to display the 3D models within uCampus. We recommend that you install one of the following: BitManagement's BS Contact, Octaga Player, or Vivaty (formerly Flux) Player. For a more comprehensive list of freely available X3D players, please consult the Web3D Consortium’s X3D Resources page.

Download uCampus Client

After the above two prerequisites in place, you are now ready to download and install uCampus on your PC. All you need to do is to click the link below:

Download and Launch uCampus

You will be immediately presented with the following dialogue box:

Java Web Start Launcher

Check the Open with Java ™ Web Start Launcher button and click OK. Two more security warnings follow to verify the digital signatures of the application – Click the Run button on both dialogue boxes (one for uCampus, the other for svgSalamaner).

uCampus.jnlp file

If all goes well, you should see the opening window of uCampus as shown below, meaning that you have downloaded, installed and launched the uCampus application successfully.

You can move the ucampus.jnlp file downloaded onto your desktop, and use it as a clickable icon to launch uCampus next time. There is no need to download uCampus again when a newer version is released. Launch uCampus via ucampus.jnlp (Java Web Start) ensures that you will always access the latest version of the platform.
